June 30, 2018 -Holland- On Friday, June 29, 2018 officers from the Holland Police Department responded to 254 Brimfield Road at approximately 5:43 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a caller believing a homicide had just been committed.

Upon arrival Holland Police discovered a female victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel.

The victim has been identified as Ms. Janet Kastberg, 60, of Holland, Mass.

Also on scene was Jonathan Kastberg, 75, of Holland, Mass. He was immediately detained by members of the Holland Police Department.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with Murder and Violation of an Abuse Prevention Order.

This is an active and on-going investigation being conducted by the Holland Police Department, The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

Johnathan Kastberg is expected to be arraigned in Palmer District Court on Monday.
