One Man Under Arrest in Holyoke Homicide

July 22, 2019 -Holyoke- On Friday, July 19, 2019 members of the Holyoke Police Department responded to 660 South Bridge Street at approximately 11:00 p.m. on a report of a man with severe injuries.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Miguel DeJesus, 26, of Holyoke suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. He was rushed to Baystate Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.  

Early in the investigation detectives from the Holyoke Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office identified Samuel Rosario, 25, of San Juan, PR, as a suspect in the homicide.  

Detectives quickly determined Rosario’s location and coordinated with the Connecticut State Police. He was apprehended at Bradley International Airport on Saturday morning and taken into custody. He is expected to appear in Enfield Superior Court today for an extradition hearing.    

This is an on-going homicide investigation being conducted by the Holyoke Police Department, Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni and Holyoke Police Chief Manuel Febo express their sympathies to Mr. DeJesus’ family.
