Suspect Arrested in Ludlow Domestic Assault

April 12, 2019 -Springfield- On April 11, 2019 the Ludlow Police and Fire Departments responded to 269 Winsor Street in Ludlow. The response was the result of a 9-1-1 call for an unresponsive female resident. She was immediately transported to Baystate Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Ms. Michelle Zygarowski, 52, of Ludlow.

Ms. Zygarowski appeared to have suffered wounds from an assault earlier in the day. Arrested in connection with the domestic assault is Manuel Rodrigues, 56, of Ludlow.

The circumstances surrounding Ms. Zygarowski’s death remain under investigation by the: Ludlow Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Manuel Rodrigues is currently charged with Domestic Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery Dangerous Weapon, he is expected to be arraigned in Palmer District Court this afternoon.
