October 17, 2016 -Springfield, Ma- Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s office today identified the victim of a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred over the weekend in Westfield on Russellville Road.

The initial investigation indicates the car driven by Nick Sanchez, 19, was travelling down Russellville Road when it left the roadway and into a wooded area. The operator, Nick Sanchez, was transported to Baystate Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The passenger in the vehicle, Justin Messier, 24, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This is an on-going investigation by the Westfield Police Department, The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.
