June 12, 2019 -Springfield- On Tuesday, June 11, 2019 members of the Springfield Police Department responded to the vicinity of Liberty Street and Genesee Street for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim at the scene of the shooting, later identified as Mr. Isaiah Ramos, 19, of Springfield. He was transported to Baystate Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.  

Earlier this morning Mr. Edwin Hernandez, 20, of Holyoke was taken into custody and will be arraigned in Springfield District Court on a charge of murder    

This is an on-going investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit, and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.
