900 Packages of Heroin Seized in Back to Back Arrests

October 24, 2016 -Springfield, MA- While investigating narcotics trafficking in Hampden County, District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s Hampden County Narcotics Task Force (HCNTF) and the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section became aware of Aneudy Lopez, 34, of Chicopee, Ma. Lopez was suspected of distributing large amounts of heroin in the Chicopee and Holyoke, area.  The investigation further revealed that there were three outstanding felony warrants for Lopez for charges that included trafficking cocaine, distribution of heroin, and money laundering.

In a separate investigation into narcotics trafficking, members of the HCNTF became aware of Fabian Williams, 29 of Springfield, Ma. Williams is suspected of distributing large amounts of heroin in the Holyoke and Springfield areas.  The investigation further revealed that Williams was currently released on bail from Hampshire Superior Court for charges that include Rape. As a condition of his release, Williams was being monitored with an electronic monitoring device.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni stated, “We are focused on investigating, arresting, and aggressively prosecuting drug dealers and traffickers. It is they who profit from addiction, which destroys lives, families, and communities. The involved agencies collaborated to remove two suspected traffickers of illicit drugs off of our streets. I thank the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force for its vigilance and thorough and successful investigations.”

Aneudy Lopez

On Wednesday October 19, 2016 at approximately 2:00 p.m. the members of District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s Hampden County Narcotics Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to Hampden District Attorney Office, the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, the Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force, and the Chicopee Police Department, observed Lopez in the parking lot of 639 Memorial Avenue in Chicopee, Ma. When it was clear to the investigating officers that Lopez had engaged in the sale of illicit narcotics officers moved in and placed him into custody without incident and made sure he was advised of his Miranda rights.

Recovered from Lopez during the investigation were approximately 500 bags of heroin ready for sale and a small bag of crack cocaine. Lopez was taken into custody and transported to the Chicopee Police Department where he was booked. Lopez was arraigned in Chicopee District Court yesterday, October 20, 2016 on charges of distribution of a Class A substance (Heroin), possession of a class B substance (Cocaine) and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. He is currently being held on $50,000 bail and his next scheduled court date in regards to this case is November 14, 2016  He will also be transferred to Hampden Superior Court on outstanding warrants

Fabian Williams

On Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at approximately 1:00 p.m. the members of the District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s Hampden County Narcotics Task Force, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and the Holyoke Police Department Narcotics Bureau observed Williams in the parking lot of 50 Holyoke Street in Holyoke, Ma. When it was clear to the investigating officers that Lopez had engaged in the sale of illicit narcotics officers moved in and placed him into custody without incident and made sure he was advised of his Miranda rights.

Recovered during Williams’ arrest were approximately 400 packaged bags of heroin ready for sale. Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Holyoke Police Department where he was booked. Williams was arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. The Commonwealth asked for $20,000 cash bail and bail revocation on the charges from Hampshire County. His bail was revoked on the previous charges and set at $2,000 for his new charges in Hampden County. He was arraigned on charges of both possession and possession to distribute a class A drug. He is scheduled to be back in court for a pre-trial conference on November 15, 2016.
