Community Safety and Outreach Unit Recognized by Forest Park Civic Association

March 13, 2026 – Springfield, Massachusetts – Three members of the Hampden District Attorney’s Office Community Safety and Outreach Unit were recently recognized by the Forest Park Civic Association with Neighborhood Recognition Awards for their efforts to strengthen community engagement and public safety initiatives throughout Hampden County.

Director of Community Safety and Outreach Tony Simmons, Deputy Director Gina Anselmo, and Community Safety and Outreach Specialist Halie Matthew received the award during the Forest Park Civic Association’s Annual Meeting on March 8 at the ECOS Center in Forest Park.

The recognition highlighted the team’s innovative programming and consistent outreach efforts aimed at building stronger relationships between the District Attorney’s Office and the communities it serves.

“Our Community Safety and Outreach Unit works every day to be present in schools, neighborhoods, and community spaces to build trust, relationships, and, ultimately, stronger and safer communities,” said Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni. “Tony, Gina, and Halie exemplify this spirit of service and community and I am grateful to the Forest Park Civic Association for recognizing their outstanding commitment to the people of Hampden County.”

The Forest Park Civic Association’s Neighborhood Recognition Awards celebrate individuals and organizations whose work has made a meaningful difference in the Forest Park neighborhood and the broader Springfield community.

Through the Community Safety and Outreach Unit, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office partners with residents, schools, and community organizations on initiatives focused on youth engagement, violence prevention, and neighborhood safety.
