April 19, 2026 – Springfield, Massachusetts – At approximately 5:39 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, officers with the Holyoke Police Department responded to a report of shots fired with a victim injured in the area of 139 Sargeant Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began to provide life saving measures. The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. 

This remains an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Hampden District Attorney’s State Police Detective Unit, Murder Unit, and the Holyoke Police Department.

There is no ongoing threat to the public.
