District Attorney Speaks at Holyoke Taxpayers Association Annual Meeting

April 30, 2025 – Holyoke, Massachusetts – Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni addressed members of the Holyoke Taxpayers Association at the organization’s annual meeting on Thursday, April 17 at The Delaney House.

The District Attorney spoke about the role of the DA’s office in the community, with a particular focus on the office’s prevention and intervention initiatives, and how that work connects to Holyoke. He highlighted ongoing efforts to steer young people away from the criminal justice system and toward supportive programs, mentorship, and opportunity.

“Public safety doesn’t begin in the courtroom – it begins in our communities, in our schools, and in the lives of young people,” the District Attorney said. “Our prevention work is about investing in better outcomes, and Holyoke is a key partner in that effort.”

After his speech, Gulluni took a few questions, including the topics of recidivism, the importance of early intervention and opportunities for business owners to get involved in the DA’s Emerging Adult Court of Hope (EACH) program, and more.

The Holyoke Taxpayers Association, a nonprofit, serves as a watchdog for the taxpayers of the city, focusing on fiscal responsibility. Their annual meeting brought together business and civic leaders, elected officials, and community stakeholders for updates on local initiatives and issues impacting taxpayers.
