Background

Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s Youth Advisory Board Conference will take place on Thursday April 26, 2019 at the MassMutual Center from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. This annual meeting brings together members of the law enforcement, education, and political communities with the Youth Advisory Board, made up of high school students from across Hampden County. The event will focus on the accomplishments and hard work by the board, as well as, to premiere the youth advisory board’s self-produced video about teen vaping.

Our young people are increasingly faced with a number of challenges in today’s society and it is important that adults listen and learn about the ways young people attempt to meet those challenges.  In the past, the students have provided valuable information that has been useful in identifying the needs of young people within the county and what efforts can be undertaken by law enforcement, elected officials, and educators to address these needs.  Once again, we expect to gain insight into today’s youth and use that knowledge to provide a safer environment in schools and in the community.

Youth Advisory Board Members are also heavily involved in the District Attorney’s Office’s Stop the Swerve Campaign and Internet Safety Presentations that are presented to elementary and middle school students and parents throughout Hampden County.

Members of the media are welcome anytime during the event. The District Attorney and members of the Youth Advisory Board will be available for sound around 9:30 a.m.
