Students Invited to Play, Cheer, and Explore Opportunities at 9th Annual Hoop Up Springfield & Summer Job Fair

April 10, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – Calling all student athletes and basketball fans! Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni invites students ages 11 through 18 to the 9th Annual Hoop Up Springfield Basketball Tournament & Summer Job Fair, taking place on Monday, April 21 at American International College’s Butova Gymnasium.
This free event, open to all Hampden County students, blends a day of fun, competition, and opportunity – including a cheerleading clinic, exciting 3×3 basketball games, and a summer job fair for high school students.
Whether you’re in middle school, high school, or anywhere in between, if you love basketball, this is your chance to show off your skills on the court. Bring your team, bring your energy, and get ready for a day of hoops and community.
High school students are encouraged to check out the summer job fair from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., where local employers will be on hand with real job opportunities in retail, hospitality, recreation, and more.
“This event is about more than just basketball – it’s about building a stronger, safer community,” said Gulluni. “We want young people to have fun, be engaged, and find a positive path forward. Whether it’s a team win or landing a summer job, we hope everyone walks away with something valuable.”
The event is open to the public and free to attend. The program runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the job fair portion from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Those interested in only attending the job fair are welcome to come during that time.
While pre-registration is not mandatory, students are encouraged to sign up ahead of the event at https://bit.ly/2025HoopUpSpringfield. Local employers interested in bringing their business to the job fair can register for a booth at https://tinyurl.com/muc9kpzs. Hoop Up Springfield & Summer Job Fair is offered in collaboration with AIC’s Saremi Center for Career Development.
