April 21, 2026 – Holyoke, Massachusetts – Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni has identified the victim involved in a shooting on Sargeant Street in Holyoke on Saturday, April 18.

At approximately 5:39 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, officers with the Holyoke Police Department responded to a report of shots fired with a victim injured in the area of 139 Sargeant Street.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began to provide life-saving measures. The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Robert Abreu, 31, of Holyoke.

This remains an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Hampden District Attorney’s State Police Detective Unit, Murder Unit, and the Holyoke Police Department.
