November 3, 2016 -Chicopee, Ma- Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s office today identified the victims of a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on November 1, 2016 on Sheridan Street in Chicopee, Ma.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. on November 1, 2016, Westover Air Force Base Security requested Massachusetts State Police assistance in response to an accident that occurred on the perimeter of the base. A detective from the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office arrived on scene and observed a motor vehicle which had crashed into jersey barriers. Both occupants off the vehicle were deceased when officers arrived on scene. The initial response to the accident was by Westover Air Force Base Fire Rescue, Westover Air Force Base Security personnel, as well as Massachusetts State Troopers from the Springfield Barracks.

Pronounced deceased at the scene was the driver of the vehicle Travis Cerez, 29 of Chicopee Ma, and passenger Javier Zengotita, 39 of Chicopee, Ma.

This is an on-going investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit Assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.
