September 1, 2026 – Springfield, Massachusetts – Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni has identified the victim involved in a fatal shooting Sunday morning in Springfield.

At approximately 1 a.m., on Sunday, August 30, 2026, Springfield Police officers responded to an apartment on the 0-100 block of Forest Park Avenue for a report of a gunshot victim. Officers located an adult male gunshot victim and provided first aid. The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died.

The victim has been identified as Juan Dominguez, 34, of Springfield.

This remains an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Homicide Unit under the direction of Captain Trent Duda, in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit.
