July 16, 2024 -Springfield- On Sunday, July 14, 2024, at 10:55 p.m., officers from the Springfield Police Department responded to the 100 block of Massasoit Street for a ShotSpotter activation. Responding  officers located an adult male gunshot victim who was transported to Baystate Medical Center and later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Mr. Damontey Williams, 19, of Springfield.

This in an ongoing investigation being conducted by members of the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit, and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni extends his sympathies to Mr. Williams’s Family.
