November 30, 2021 -Springfield- On Sunday, November 28, 2021 the Springfield Police Department responded to West Alvord Street for a ShotSpotter activation at approximately 3:30 a.m.

While responding to the scene, officers observed a car that appeared to have crashed into a car on East Alvord Street. Officers discovered an unresponsive female victim appearing to be suffering from a gunshot wound. Another victim, male, was discovered on East Alvord Street, and he too appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound,  and was transported to Baystate Medical Center.  

The decedent has been identified as Ms. Charleen Figueroa , 22, of Springfield.

This is an on-going investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.
