Victim of Chicopee Homicide on Montgomery Street Identified

November 22, 2019 -Chicopee- On Thursday, November 21, 2019 officers for the Chicopee Police Department responded to the area of 1296 Montgomery Street for a report of an unresponsive male.   

Upon arrival, officers discovered the individual seated in a vehicle and unresponsive. When officers began administrating CPR, it became clear the individual had already passed away and to have suffered from a gunshot wound.    

Members of both the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office along with detectives from the Chicopee Police Department immediately began investigating this case as a homicide.

Early in the investigation detectives were able to identify and arrest a suspect in connection with this investigation. Arrested on a charge of murder; Mr. William Allsop, 45, of Monson.    

The Victim has been identified as Mr. Gary Gaudette Jr., 39, of Springfield.

This is an on-going investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, the Chicopee Police Department and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

William Allsop was arraigned today in Chicopee District Court and is being held without the right to bail. His next scheduled court date is on December 20, 2019.
