DA Gulluni and Staff Support 60 Children in Need Through Holiday Adoption Effort

December 19, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – Continuing a longstanding tradition of holiday giving, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office has once again “adopted” children in need this Christmas, ensuring dozens of local young people will have gifts waiting for them under the tree. This year, 60 employees volunteered to purchase presents for 60 children, fulfilling individual wish lists and helping make the season brighter for families supported by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC).
Through this effort, each participating employee receives a child’s first name, age, and gender, along with a personalized wish list. These lists typically include toys, clothing, winter necessities, and practical items — for example, building sets, art supplies, warm sweaters, gloves, or gift cards. Employees shop for their assigned child and return the wrapped gifts to the office, where they are delivered to MSPCC.
The MSPCC serves families across multiple communities in western Massachusetts through a range of programs. The children adopted by the DA’s Office are engaged in one or more of these services, and MSPCC provides only limited personal information to protect privacy.
Julie Warner, Director of Youth and Family Services at the MSPCC said, “We are overjoyed by the support from the DA’s office for the kids and families in Western Massachusetts.”
The Hampden District Attorney’s Office has proudly supported this holiday initiative for many years and views it as an important extension of its commitment to children and families.
District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni said,“Every year, our staff looks forward to this tradition. It’s a small but meaningful way we can support children and families who deserve to feel the joy of the season. The generosity shown by our team reflects the values of this office and our shared commitment to making a positive impact in Hampden County.”
