DA’s Office Participates in National Night Out Events Across Springfield and Chicopee

August 18, 2025 – Springfield and Chicopee, Massachusetts – Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni and representatives from his office joined community members last week for National Night Out celebrations, attending events at five Springfield locations as well as Chicopee’s annual gathering.

National Night Out is a nationwide initiative designed to foster community spirit, promote public safety, and strengthen relationships between residents and law enforcement. The DA’s office took part by visiting tables, learning about local programs, and sharing information on the resources the office offers to victims, families, and the broader community.

In Chicopee, members of the Hampden DA’s Youth Advisory Board staffed a table on behalf of the office, engaging with residents and young people about prevention programs, victim services, and opportunities for youth involvement.

“These events are a powerful reminder of the strength of our communities,” said Gulluni. “National Night Out gives us the chance to meet people where they are, have real conversations, and connect them with services and programs that can make a difference in their lives. These events also display the good work of law enforcement, and how across all communities, people value and trust the women and men of their police departments.”

Representatives from the office visited neighborhood gatherings across Springfield on Tuesday, August 5, including the Outing Park Apartments, Mason Square Apartments, City View Apartments, Older Upper Hill, and Forest Park. On Wednesday, August 6, the team joined the city of Chicopee at Sarah Jane Sherman Park.

The visits provided opportunities to connect with local leaders, learn about ongoing initiatives, and reaffirm the office’s commitment to public safety and community partnerships.
