District Attorney’s Office Speaks with Renaissance Students About Internet Safety

May 30, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – Staff from Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni’s Community Safety and Outreach Unit (CSO) visited Springfield’s Renaissance School on Tuesday, May 20 to discuss the importance of internet safety as part of the office’s ongoing internet safety presentation.

The CSO led engaging and age-appropriate discussion with Renaissance’s sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, focusing on topics such as cyber bullying, social media use, online predators, digital privacy, and the lasting impact of online behavior. The presentations are aimed to equip students with the knowledge to stay safe and make responsible choices online.

“Our goal is to give students the information they need to make smart, safe decisions online,” said Gulluni. “The internet is a powerful tool, but it also comes with risks, especially for young people. By talking honestly and directly with students, we hope to prevent harm before it happens.”

The internet safety presentation is one of many programs the Hampden District Attorney’s Office offers, working to promote education, prevention, and youth empowerment across the county. The office regularly collaborates with schools and community partners to support the health and safety of young people.
