Hampden DA Anthony D. Gulluni Elected Vice President of the National District Attorneys Association Board of Directors

September 2, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni has been elected Vice President of the Board of Directors for the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), the country’s leading organization representing state and local prosecutors. He was formally sworn into the role in July during the NDAA’s summer conference in Kansas City, Missouri.

Now in his tenth year as Hampden County District Attorney, Gulluni has become a leading voice on innovative and community-based approaches to criminal justice. As the chief law enforcement official for one of the largest counties in Massachusetts, Gulluni represents more than 450,000 residents in Springfield, Holyoke, Chicopee, Westfield, and surrounding communities.

He is known statewide and nationally for pioneering efforts in youth intervention, victim advocacy, gun violence prevention, and alternatives to incarceration. Under his leadership, the Hampden District Attorney’s Office has launched groundbreaking diversion and reentry programs, expanded community engagement, and strengthened services for survivors of violence and trauma.

“It’s an honor to be elected Vice President of the National District Attorneys Association and to represent Massachusetts and the people of Hampden County on this national stage,” Gulluni said. “As I mark 10 years as District Attorney, this moment is especially meaningful. The work we’ve done in Hampden County, centered on prevention, opportunity, and justice, has shaped my approach to prosecution and to leadership. Being entrusted with this role by colleagues from across the country is both humbling and energizing, and I’m proud to carry the values of our community into this new chapter.”

Gulluni previously served two terms as president of the Massachusetts District Attorneys Association (MDAA), where he helped shape statewide policy and prosecutorial best practices. His election to the NDAA board’s executive leadership reflects his longstanding involvement with the organization and his national leadership on forward-thinking prosecutorial practices.

The NDAA, headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, supports the nation’s prosecutors through training, advocacy, and leadership development. Its board comprises of elected district attorneys from across the United States who work to shape public policy, improve the criminal justice system, and protect public safety.
