Hampden DA’s Office Contributes to Record-Breaking Mayflower Marathon Collection

November 26, 2025 – Springfield, MA – The Hampden District Attorney’s Office is proud to announce the success of its annual participation in the Rock 102 Mayflower Marathon, culminating in a strong showing of generosity from both staff and the wider community.

This year, the office’s efforts included an internal food collection as well as a public food drive event hosted by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the DA’s Office at the Big Y on Boston Road in Wilbraham. Through these combined efforts, the office raised more than $1,400 in cash donations and filled a large State Police cruiser van to the brim with nonperishable food items.

On Tuesday, November 25, members of the Hampden District Attorney’s Office and troopers from the State Police Detective Unit delivered the collected goods to the Mayflower Marathon site outside the South End Market at MGM Springfield. Troopers and District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni assisted with unloading the cruiser and contributing to the Marathon’s overall goal.

This year’s Mayflower Marathon was a record-breaker, raising a total of $260,062 for Open Pantry Community Services and filling several tractor-trailers with donated food.

“The spirit and generosity of this community never ceases to amaze me,” said District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni. “I’m grateful to our staff, our State Police partners, and our local residents for stepping up year after year to support families across Hampden County.”

The items collected by the Hampden District Attorney’s Office will support Open Pantry Community Services. For those who may have missed the Mayflower Marathon, donations can still be made directly to Open Pantry Community Services.
