Hampden District Attorney’s Office Investigates Fatal Shooting in Chicopee

September 24, 2025 – Chicopee, Massachusetts – The Hampden District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit and the Chicopee Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday September 23, 2025 at approximately 2:22 p.m., Chicopee Police Officers received a report of a shooting in the 0-100 block of Dayton Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male gunshot victim in the driveway of the residence. The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield where he succumbed to his injuries.

After investigators reviewed video footage of the shooting, they were able to identify an individual allegedly connected to the shooting. This individual has been identified as Timothy Lynch, 27, of Chicopee, Massachusetts.

On Wednesday September 24, 2025, Timothy Lynch was arraigned in Chicopee District Court on (1) count of murder, (1) count of possession of a firearm without an FID card, (1) count of possession of ammunition without an FID card, (1) count of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, (1) count of possession to distribute a Class B substance. Lynch is currently being held without the right to bail. His next date in Chicopee District Court is November 10, 2025 for pre-trial conference.

This remains an ongoing investigation conducted by the Hampden District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit in conjunction with the Chicopee Police Department.
