Suspect Arrested, Arraigned After Trooper Struck in Hit-and-Run
June 11, 2025 – Chicopee, Massachusetts – Naisha Rodriguez, 32, of Springfield, has been arrested in connection with an alleged hit-and-run on Interstate 90 West on Tuesday, June 10, in which a trooper of the Massachusetts State Police was struck.
Rodriguez was arraigned today, June 11, 2025, in Chicopee District Court and was charged with operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury, misleading a police investigation, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash causing personal injury. Bail was set at $500,000, without prejudice.
At approximately 2:20 a.m. on June 10, 2025, a vehicle struck and seriously injured a trooper working a motor vehicle stop on Interstate 90 West near exit 51 in Chicopee. The operator did not remain on scene in the aftermath of the crash.
Massachusetts State Police personnel assigned to Troop B and Fire Officials responded immediately to the scene, closed all westbound lanes, and facilitated transport for the injured trooper to Baystate Medical Center. The trooper was seriously injured but is presently in stable condition.
Troopers assigned to the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene, along with an assistant district attorney assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Motor Vehicle Fatality Unit. The Massachusetts State Police Employee Assistance Unit also responded to provide for the needs of first responders.
Detectives from the Hampden District Attorney’s State Police Detective Unit and Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section-West were able to identify Rodriguez as a suspect and arrested her at her residence in Springfield at noon.
Rodriguez is presumed innocent of all allegations until proven guilty. Her next appearance in court will be July 10, 2025 for a pre-trial hearing.
