Suspect Arrested, Arraigned in Connection to April Springfield Double Murder

July 11, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – On Wednesday, July 9, Bobby Rivera, 34, of Springfield,was served with a murder warrant while in custody at the Hampden County Correctional Center, in connection with a double homicide that took place on Hebron Street on April 2. 

At approximately 5:40 a.m. on April 2, Springfield Police Officers responded to a home on the 0-100 block of Hebron Street for a report of two gunshot victims. Officers arrived and located two adult male gunshot victims inside. The victims were transported to Baystate where they both succumbed to their injuries. The victims were identified as Noe Martin, 55 and Justin Santiago, 36, both of Springfield. 

The Springfield Police Homicide Unit, led by Captain Trent Duda, launched an investigation in collaboration with the Hampden District Attorney’s Office. Homicide Unit Detectives applied for and were granted a warrant for Rivera’s arrest in connection with a carjacking shortly after the shooting. Rivera was arrested May 30 on carjacking charges.    

As detectives continued their investigation, they identified Rivera as a suspect in the murders. On July 8, detectives applied for and were granted a warrant for Rivera’s arrest in connection with the Hebron Street homicides. On July 9, Rivera was served at the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow where he was being held after he was charged for carjacking. 

Rivera was arraigned in Hampden County District Court on Thursday, July 10 on the following:

  1. Murder (Noe Martin)
  2. Murder (Justin Santiago)
  3. Firearm, carry without license
  4. Firearm, carry without license loaded
  5. Firearm, discharge within 500 feet of a building
  6. Larceny under $1,200

Rivera was held without the right to bail. Rivera is presumed innocent of all allegations until proven guilty. His next date in court is August 12, 2025, for a preliminary hearing.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Springfield Police Homicide Unit in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit.
