Victim Identified in July 11 Orange Street Homicide

July 16, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – On Friday, July 11 at approximately 10:30 p.m., Springfield Police Officers responded to an apartment on the 200 block of Orange Street for a report of a gunshot victim. 

Upon arrival, officers located two adult male gunshot victims inside the apartment. Both were transported to Baystate Medical Center. The first victim suffered serious injuries. The second victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The first victim succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, July 13.

The victim has been identified as Eric Wilson, 54, of Springfield.

The Springfield Police Homicide Unit under the direction of Captain Trent Duda is investigating in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit.  There is no ongoing public safety threat.
