June 3, 2025 – Springfield, Massachusetts – At approximately 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, Springfield Police Officers responded to the area of Pearl Street and Chestnut Street for shots fired.

Officers located an adult male gunshot victim on the 400 block of Bridge Street.  He was transported to Baystate where he succumbed to his injuries that evening. 

The victim has been identified as Trey Palmer, 27, of Chicopee.

The Springfield Police Homicide Unit under the direction Captain Trent Duda is investigating in conjunction with the Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit. There is no ongoing public safety threat.
