Victim of East Longmeadow Crash Victim Passes Away

April 2, 2019 -East Longmeadow- At approximately 2:58 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 the East Longmeadow Police Department responded to  9-1-1 call reporting a vehicle had crashed into a pond located in Heritage Park.

Both the East Longmeadow Police and Fire Departments responded and found a vehicle partially submerged approximately thirty to forty feet from shore. Members of the East Longmeadow Fire Department were able to swim out to the vehicle where they discovered a single passenger inside. Firefighters were able to gain entry into the vehicle and extricate the victim who was unresponsive.   

The 32 year male, of East Longmeadow, was immediately transported to Baystate Medical Center with life threatening injuries which ultimately caused his death.

Unsure if the operator was the sole occupant of the vehicle, a further search was conducted in the pond by the East Longmeadow Fire Department and the Massachusetts State Police Dive Team, which did not locate any other victim/s

The investigation is ongoing by the East Longmeadow Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
