June 27, 2018 -Springfield- On the morning of  Tuesday, June 26, 2018, the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force consisting of: the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, Springfield Police Department’s Narcotics, Street Crimes and C3 Units,  the West Springfield Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations executed 12 search warrants throughout Hampden County following a lengthy investigation into the trafficking of narcotics here in Hampden County.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni stated, “I would like to thank the dedicated and professional members of law enforcement who participated in this investigation. Continuing to hold accountable those who wish to profit from addiction remains the number one priority of my administration.”

The locations, individuals arrested and items seized are as follows:

145 Cambridge Street, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Derek Lopez, 30, of Springfield, on the charge of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

Items Seized:   Approx. $7164.00, 9 bags of heroin.

29 Morris Street, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Milagros Ortiz, 48, of Springfield, on the charges: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Heroin (36-100 grams)

Kevin Rivera-Ortiz, 20, of Springfield, Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Heroin (36-100 grams), Possession of a loaded Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without FID card

Items seized:    One Glock .40 caliber handgun, loaded, nineteen .40 caliber rounds of ammunition, approximately $460.00, 1400 bags of heroin (packaged for distribution)

Arrested:          Edfrain Rosario, 22, of Springfield on charges of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Cocaine (100-200) grams, Possession of a Loaded Firearm without an FID card, Possession of Ammunition without an FID card

Jean Rosario, 20, of Springfield, on charges of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Cocaine (100-200 grams),  Possession of a Loaded Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without and FID card

Items seized:    Glock 9MM handgun, loaded, 16 rounds of 9MM ammunition, Heroin packaging and processing paraphernalia, approximately $6113.00

405 Cherry Street, 3^rd floor, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Kenen Monsanto-Maldonado, 18, of Springfield, on charges of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Heroin (100-200 grams)

Items seized:    3155 bags of heroin, approximately $4082.00

405 Cherry Street, 2^nd floor, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Matthew Carasquillo, 21, of Springfield, on charges of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Possession of a Class A Drug (Heroin) w/Intent to Distribute

Items seized:    Approximately 550 bags of heroin

3 Glendale Terrace, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Devin Lopez, 26, of Springfield on the charge of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

19 Layzon Bros. Road, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Cassandra Cardona, 21, of Springfield, on the charges of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Heroin Over 200 grams, Possession With Intent to Distribute (Class A Drug, Heroin)

Items seized:    Approximately 9 grams of raw un-cut heroin, Infinity M37, Approx. $760.00

47 Beacon Terrace, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Jose Fabian Haddock-Ortiz, 28, of Springfield, on charges of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Trafficking in Heroin 36-100 grams, Possession of Ammunition without an FID card

Items seized:    1500 bags of heroin, 15 rounds of misc. calibers of ammunition, approximately 10 grams of raw un-cut heroin, $4395.00

24 Wilcox Street, apartment 4R, Springfield, Mass

Arrested:          Joshua Rosado, 20, of Springfield, on the charge of: Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws

1046 Liberty Street, Springfield, Mass

Items seized:    .40 Caliber 20 round magazine clip, 1 bag of cocaine, one vehicle (Jeep)

203 Circuit Avenue “U Name It Self Storage” Unit #WS-14 West Springfield, Mass

Items seized:    $25,380, one vehicle (2006 BMW)

The total amount of money, drugs and guns for this round of search warrants were:

Approximately 6,765 bags of stamped heroin

Approximately 19 grams of raw heroin

Approximately 156 grams of cocaine

Approximately $48,866 in US Currency
