Narcotics Investigation Leads to One Arrest

March 17, 2021 -Holyoke- On Tuesday, March 16, 2021 detectives assigned to Hampden District Attorney Gulluni’s Narcotics Task Force arrested a suspect for his alleged involvment in an illegal drug trafficking operation out of Holyoke. Arrested in connection with this investigation were: Abner Alejandro, 42, of Holyoke and has been charged with: Trafficking a Class B Drug, Cocaine, Over 200 Grams, and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni stated, “Investigators did a tremendous job in shutting down this trafficking operation and in the process making our community safer. We will now work to hold him accountable.”  

The investigation focused on a drug distribution operation operated out of Rivera Auto Sales and Repair at 243 Elm Street in Holyoke, which is owned by Carlos Cruz, and Alejandro’s residence at 21 Worcester Place in Holyoke.

Investigators recently applied for several search warrants out of the Holyoke District Court Clerk’s Office for both addresses above, as well as, vehicles owned by Alejandro.

Yesterday, March 16, 2021, the search warrants were executed and Alejandro taken into custody. Seized at Alejandro’s residence was 1 kilogram of cocaine, $12,019, along with drug packaging paraphernalia. Another $10,000 was seized at Rivera Auto Sales along with other evidence documenting involvement in the drug trafficking operation.

Alejandro were taken into custody yesterday and taken to the Holyoke Police Department without incident. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in Holyoke District Court.

Another suspect in connection with this investigation, Carlos Cruz, 34, of Holyoke, will be charges at a later date
