March 15, 2023 -Springfield- On Friday, March 10, 2023, members of Springfield Police Department  respond to reports of a shooting on Caldwell drive in Springfield just after 7:00 p.m. When officers arrived they discovered a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to Baystate Medical Center where he passed away from his injuries. He has been identified as Mr. Jahvante Perez, 25, of West Springfield.

Arrested in connection with this  homicide was Jordan Cabrera, 25, of Chicopee.

Jordan Cabrera was arraigned out of Springfield District Court on Monday, March 13, 2023 and is currently being held without the right to bail. He his scheduled to be back in court on April 12, 2023.   

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit  and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni extends his sympathies to Mr. Perez’s family.
