June 2, 2021 -Springfield- On Saturday, May 29, 2021 at approximately 4:10 a.m., members of the Springfield Police Department responded to a shots fired call on Lionel Benoit Rd. Responding officers located a victim on Bertil Hammarlof Road.

The victim passed away a short time later from his injuries at Baystate Medical Center. He has been identified as Mr. Abushante Jennings, 37, of Springfield.

This is an on-going homicide investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.
