Victim in Holyoke Homicide Identified

November 3, 2020 -Holyoke- On Friday, October 30, 2020 at approximately 12:15 p.m. the Holyoke Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Main and Spring Streets for a two car accident.

Officers located a victim who was unresponsive and trapped in one of the vehicles, he needed to be extricated in order for first responders to administer medial aid. Once he was removed from the car it was discovered he was suffering from a gunshot wound, he was  immediately rushed to Baystate Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  

The decedent has been identified as Mr. Robert James, 52, of Agawam.

This is an on-going investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, the Holyoke Police Department, and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni  and Holyoke Police Chief Manuel Febo express their sympathies to Mr. James’s family.
