January 7, 2019 -Springfield- On Saturday, January 5, 2019 officers from the Springfield Police Department responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the in the vicinity of 380 Cooley Street.  

Upon arrival officers administered CPR to the victim who was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car. After the arrival of emergency medical personnel he was pronounced deceased at the scene  

The victim has been identified as Mr. Alexis Martinez, 29, of Springfield.

The homicide investigation is currently being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit as well as the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

This is an open and active investigation. No arrest has been made at this time.
