December 9, 2022 -Holyoke- On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at approximately 8:20 p.m. members of the Holyoke Police Department responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of Pine and Sargeant Streets.

When officers arrived they observed signs of firearm(s) having been discharged along road. Shortly thereafter a victim was discovered at the rear of a building in close proximity to the Pine and Sargeant streets intersection. The victim was rushed from the scene to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.  

The victim has been identified as Mr. Luis Ramos, 49, of Holyoke.

This is an ongoing homicide investigation being conducted by the Holyoke Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni extends his sympathies to Mr. Ramos’s family.
