Tamon Byrd and Haliendrew Flores charged with murder in Holyoke homicide investigation

August 26, 2021 -Holyoke- The Holyoke Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting in the area of Walnut Street on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at approximately 9:24 p.m.

When emergency response personnel arrived a male victim was located and  appeared to be suffering from a gun shot wound. He was transported to Baystate Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been previously identified as Mr. Miguel Sanchez, 25, of Holyoke.

Two arrest have been made in connection with this deadly shooting by detectives from the Holyoke Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.

Arrested for their alleged involvement in this murder are; Tamon Byrd, 17, of Chicopee, and Haliendrerw Flores, 17, of West Springfield. Both were arraigned today in Holyoke District Court on a charge of murder and are both being held without the right to bail.

Tamon Byrd is scheduled to be back in court on September 24, 202. Haliendrew Flores will appear in court tomorrow for a bail argument.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Holyoke Police Department, Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, and Hampden District Attorney’s Murder Unit.
