July 8, 2019 –Springfield- On Wednesday, July 3, 2019 members of the Springfield Police Department responded to 999 Worthington Street at approximately 1:40 a.m. to a man with severe injuries.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Luis Fernandez, 28, of Springfield. He was rushed to Baystate   Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.  

This is an on-going homicide investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit, Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
