August 27, 2018 -Holyoke- On August 26, 2018 officers from the Holyoke Police Department responded to 256 Maple Street in Holyoke on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival responding officers located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as Mr. Mark Diaz, 19, of Holyoke.

This is an open and active homicide investigation currently being conducted by the Holyoke Police Department, The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, and the Murder Unit of the Hampden District Attorney’s Office.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni expresses his sympathies to Mr. Diaz’s family during this difficult time.
