Chicopee homicide under investigation; Suspect under arrest

September 13, 2021 -Chicopee- The Chicopee Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a stabbing victim Friday, September 10, 2021 around 6:55 p.m. on Peloquin Drive.

When officers arrived, they discovered a victim suffering from what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Baystate Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.  

The victim has been identified as Mr. Domingo Arocho, 67, of  Chicopee.

Shortly after police arrived, a suspect, Urayoann Urimagua-Guraboa, 73, of Chicopee, was detained by officers from the Chicopee Police Department. Later in the evening he was transported to the Chicopee Police Department where he was arrested and charged with murder.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Chicopee Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder unit
