Victim in Springfield homicide identified

July 12, 2022 -Springfield- On Sunday, July 3, 2022 at approximately 3:30 a.m. the Springfield Police Department responded to a call for shots fired, a shot spotter activation, and a report of a group of people fighting  near the intersection of Terrence and State Streets. 

On scene, responding officers observed damage to several vehicles, which looked to have been caused by gunfire and blunt objects.  

Officers then received a report of an adult female gunshot victim having been privately transported to the Mercy Medical Center, where she received treatment before being transported to Baystate Medical Center with serious injuries.  

On July 8, 2022 she passed away due to her injuries.  

The victim has been identified as Ms. Adriana Gonzalez, 23, of Springfield.

This is an on-going investigation being conducted by the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit, and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office’s Murder Unit.
